Tata Safari EV Spotted Testing Ahead of Launch

Tata Motors is preparing to expand its electric vehicle lineup, and the upcoming Safari EV has now been spotted testing on Indian roads. The electric SUV is expected to become one of Tata’s flagship EVs and could take on premium electric SUVs such as the Mahindra XEV 9e and other upcoming models in the segment.

Recent spy shots reveal that the Safari EV will retain much of the design of the current diesel-powered Safari. However, it is likely to receive EV-specific styling updates, including a closed-off front grille, redesigned alloy wheels, and unique exterior details to help distinguish it from the conventional version.

As the name suggests, the Safari EV will continue to offer three-row seating, making it a practical option for larger families looking to switch to electric mobility. The spacious cabin is expected to feature premium materials, a large touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital instrument cluster, connected car technology, wireless charging, and several comfort-focused features.

While Tata Motors has not yet revealed official technical specifications, the Safari EV is expected to share its electric architecture with other upcoming premium Tata EVs. It could offer a large battery pack capable of delivering a competitive driving range suitable for both city use and long-distance travel. Fast-charging support is also expected to be part of the package.

Safety is likely to be one of the key highlights of the SUV. Buyers can expect multiple airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and several other modern safety features.

The Safari EV is expected to play an important role in Tata Motors’ future EV strategy. With the demand for larger electric SUVs growing steadily, the company aims to offer customers a combination of space, comfort, technology, and zero-emission driving.

Although Tata has not officially announced a launch date, the appearance of test vehicles suggests that the SUV is moving closer to production. More details regarding its battery options, performance, features, and pricing are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
