The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Gets 1-Star Safety Rating from Global NCAP. In the crash tests, the car scored 20.86 out of 34 points for adult passenger safety and 28.57 out of 49 points for child passenger safety.
Adult Safety Performance
In the front crash test, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz provided good protection to the head and neck of both the driver and front passenger. The driver’s chest protection was rated as marginal, while the passenger’s chest protection was considered adequate. Protection for the driver’s knees was marginal, whereas the passenger’s knees received good protection. However, the bodyshell and footwell area were found to be unstable, which affects overall safety.
During the side impact test, protection to the head and pelvis was good, the abdomen received adequate protection, but the chest showed weak protection. The side pole impact test was not conducted.
Child Safety Performance
For child safety, the car performed better. The child seats used for the 3-year-old and 18-month-old dummy were able to prevent head injuries in the frontal crash test. This means the child occupants received full head protection during the test.
