Classic Defender V8 receives Octa-inspired updates

Land Rover Classic has opened orders for the Classic Defender V8 in five new exterior colours inspired by the Defender Octa line-up. The company has unveiled a remastered Classic Defender range—powered by a V8 engine—across all three models: the 90 Station Wagon, 110 Station Wagon, and 90 Soft Top. These are offered under the Works Bespoke programme. Buyers can also customize their Classic Defender V8 to match the Defender Octa with new exterior colours and interior material options. Land Rover Classic, a division of JLR, is responsible for maintaining the brand’s heritage vehicles and sourcing them for its Approved Vehicle Programme.

Classic Defender V8: Key Highlights

  • Available in eight exterior colours
  • Powered by a 400hp 5.0-litre V8
  • Enhanced with custom suspension upgrades
  • Interiors offered in three Ultrafabrics PU and two leather options

New Colours and Interior Options

For the first time, Land Rover Classic is offering interiors with Ultrafabrics PU, a lightweight, premium, and durable alternative to leather.

The five new exterior colours include:

  • Petra Copper
  • Faro Green
  • Sargasso Blue
  • Narvik Black
  • Patagonia White

These join the existing:

  • Borasco Grey

  • Khaki Green
  • Light Cloud
  • Lunar

Leather options include Burnt Sienna semi-aniline and Ebony. Heated Recaro sports seats are also available as an optional upgrade.

Classic Defender V8 Specifications

Each remastered Defender undergoes 300 hours of paintwork. Land Rover Classic sources vehicles from the 2012–2016 model years, disassembles them at its Coventry facility, and then performs a complete rebuild. The restored SUVs feature:

  • 400hp 5.0-liter V8 engine
  • 8-speed ZF automatic transmission
  • Upgraded suspension with custom springs, dampers, and anti-roll bars
  • 335mm front and 300mm rear discs with 4-piston calipers

Buyers can further personalize their Defender with options such as a gloss-black radiator grille, carbon-fiber bonnet script, and five wheel designs in 11 finishes, available in 16-inch and 18-inch sizes. Each vehicle comes with a one-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.

Defender Octa in India

Land Rover launched the Defender Octa in India on March 26, 2025, with ex-showroom prices starting at ₹2.42 crore. Unlike the remastered Classic Defender V8, the Octa uses a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine.
