Looking for a Budget EV Scooter? Meet the New Bajaj Chetak C2501

Bajaj has expanded its electric scooter range with the launch of the Chetak C2501, which is now the most affordable model in the Chetak lineup. It is priced at Rs 91,399 (ex-showroom, Bangalore) and is aimed at buyers looking for a practical and budget-friendly electric scooter. The Chetak C2501 competes with popular rivals like the TVS iQube 2.2 and Hero Vida VX2 Go.

The Chetak C2501 is slightly smaller than the regular Chetak and is built on a new chassis. It features a clean and stylish design with a round LED headlamp that includes an LED DRL, a flat footboard for better comfort, and a U-shaped LED taillight. The scooter weighs 107 kg and offers 25 litres of under-seat storage, which is useful for daily commuting.

In terms of features, the Chetak C2501 comes with an LCD instrument cluster that supports Bluetooth connectivity. It also gets a USB charging port, hill-hold assist, and two riding modes — Eco and Sport — along with a reverse mode to make parking easier.

Powering the scooter is a 2.5 kWh battery pack placed under the rider’s feet. It drives a hub-mounted electric motor with a peak output of 2.2 kW. According to Bajaj, the scooter can deliver a range of up to 113 km on a single charge and has a top speed of 55 km/h, making it suitable for city use.

Bajaj is offering the Chetak C2501 with a 3-year or 50,000 km warranty, adding peace of mind for buyers. With its competitive pricing, decent range and practical features, the Chetak C2501 is a strong option in the entry-level electric scooter segment.
