The Suzuki Fronx gets 1-star rating from ANCAP. In the crash tests, it scored 19.30 out of 40 points for adult protection and 20.06 out of 49 points for child protection. During the frontal offset test, the Fronx showed weak protection for the driver’s chest and only adequate protection for the lower legs. The driver’s feet were given a marginal rating. For the front passenger, chest and leg protection was rated adequate, while most other areas showed good protection. However, the front structure of the car was found to pose a moderate risk to people in an oncoming vehicle.

In the full-width frontal test, the driver’s chest protection was rated weak, while other areas were rated good. The rear passenger, however, received poor chest protection because the chest deflection and seatbelt load were too high. Because of this poor performance, the entire score for this test was capped at zero. To make matters worse, the seatbelt retractor for the rear passenger failed, allowing the dummy to move too far forward. This resulted in very poor head protection.
In the side impact test, the Fronx performed better. The head, abdomen and pelvis received good protection, while the chest was rated marginal. Child safety results, however, were not very encouraging. In the frontal offset test, the heads and necks of both the 10-year-old and 6-year-old dummies showed poor protection. In the side impact test, the 10-year-old dummy’s head received marginal protection, while the 6-year-old dummy’s head hit the side of the child seat, leading to poor protection.
For pedestrian safety, the Fronx did slightly better. The bonnet and windscreen provided mostly good or adequate protection for a pedestrian’s head, although the stiff windscreen pillars showed marginal to poor results.
