Maruti Suzuki has introduced a swivel (rotatable) front passenger seat option for the Wagon R, making the popular hatchback more comfortable and accessible for senior citizens and people with disabilities. The new feature is currently available as part of a pilot program at over 200 Arena dealerships across 11 cities. Depending on customer feedback, Maruti may expand this option to more locations in the future. The company has not yet announced the price of the swivel seat kit.
Which Wagon R models are eligible?
The swivel seat option can be installed on Wagon R models from the 2019 model year onwards. The best part is that the installation is quick and simple—it takes less than an hour and does not require any changes to the car’s structure. The original factory-fitted seat remains intact and does not need to be replaced.
Designed for easier entry and exit
The Wagon R’s tall-boy design already makes getting in and out relatively easy. With the addition of a rotating passenger seat, the process becomes even more convenient, especially for those who find bending or twisting difficult.
Safety and warranty details
Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that the swivel seat has been tested and approved by ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India) and meets all necessary safety standards. Buyers will also get a 3-year warranty covering any manufacturing defects related to the swivel seat.
With this move, Maruti Suzuki aims to make everyday mobility more inclusive and comfortable, ensuring that a wider range of customers can enjoy stress-free travel.
